In brief: Census Day, DATA

Thursday is the day of the national census, census officials said, and want to remind residents to return their forms as soon as possible.
How can I get a form? The U. S. Census Bureau, which organizes a census every 10 years, said that by mail or hand-delivered about 134 million questionnaires to households this month. If you do not receive a form, call 1-866-872-6868.
What's in it? Form 2010 has 10 questions, request information, including your name, age, date of birth, race, either male or female and if you own or rent. The census does not ask about legal status or social security number.
And if I'm not posting back? Residences that do not return the forms can be expected to visit this spring or summer by census workers who are seeking answers. Census officials say workers sent home is much more than the residents receive mail back the forms.
And my fellow Texans - How do they do? When it comes to encouraging people to return to form, Texas has always been a challenge - and is even worse in the rural state sequences. So far this year, Texas has the lowest rate of participation in the country electronically. Only 39 percent of Texans have been mailed their census forms from Monday, compared with 46 percent nationally, according to the website of the Census Bureau.
